#1: What is your favorite breakfast?
I love oatmeal, I have it almost every morning in different ways, hot or cold with different toppings. Breakfast is so important to me, I literally cannot function properly without breakfast.
#2: How do you drink your coffee?
I like a mocha or frappe every now and then, and I make some really good ones. But on a daily, I have my coffee only two ways black or with some sort of non-dairy milk, No sweetener.
#3: What is your favorite sandwich?
Hmm… this is a hard one, I enjoy everything from a simple pbj to a roast beef sandwich, but the one I make the most is a simple turkey and avocado with all the fixings, has to be on toasted wheat bread though.
#4: Soup or salad?
Ah hearty flavorful warm bowl of soup wins any day any time
#5: Name your favorite cookbook.
I do need to get more into cook books, mostly food blogs for now and I love quite a few; The Pioneer woman, Afrolems etc.
#6: Ban sugar or salt?
Sugar pleaseee, It would be much easier to stay away from it if it were ban than to purposely avoid it now… hahaha, but what is life with salt!
#7: Which cuisine is your favorite?
I don’t even need to think about this, ASIAN… I love Asian food and I think my Nigerian taste buds resonate with it because we both have spicy and intense flavor profiles. I do enjoy Italian, Caribbean and Mexican.
#8: What is your favorite food movie?
It has to be the movie where Meryl Streep was learning to cook, I never forget the scene where she was learning to slice onions and sliced almost a bag of onions that her husband got home and got teary eyed with the intensity of the onions in the whole house. Julie and Julia
#9: What is your guilty pleasure?
I love a decadent moist cake layered with cream, then another layer of chewy or crunchy stuff… Ah I’m already dreaming of Salt Lagos’ cake.
#10: Where do you get your inspiration?
Everywhere from supermarket isles to the recipes companies put on their product packages but mostly from Food channel, social media and blogs.
#11: Home cooking or going out for dinner?
I’m sure you already know my answer- home cooking all the way, although going out to eat is nice once in a while, I’ll rather save some money and know exactly what’s going into my food. except of course I'm travelling and I don't have the luxury to cooking.
#12: High end or low profile?
I wish I even had a choice to be high end…hehe, Low profile please. I truly believe a minimalist approach to life, classy low profile; if that’s a thing.
#13: What is your favorite restaurant?
Sadly, I don’t have one and I won’t even try. I don’t eat out a lot and I tend to stick with a few places I enjoy but one place I would go again and again is Noir in Lagos, it was an absolutely delicious restaurant experience.
#14: Where do you buy your groceries?
I live in Lagos, I like NY supermarket Lekki, they have a nice variety of affordable specialty ingredient I also go to Ebano, Spar, even road side markets.
#15: What is the best dish you ever had?
Yoo! This is a very difficult question, c’mon it’s a foodie tag, how could I possibly have a best dish ever… I love Sushi, I could eat a large tray of it, I also enjoy pasta- carbonara is my favorite kind, I love a chowder, in a sourdough bread bowl like the ones at Boudin Sourdough Bakery & Café, I had these when I lived in San Francisco. See, this question has no answer I can go on and on… I love French pastries, there is this place in San Francisco called La Boulange, they specialize in French-American confectioneries…ahhhhh its heaven, I dream of it every now and then.
I think Chocolate Royale in Lagos could suffice. I also like half ripe roasted plantain with groundnuts.
#16: What is your favorite cocktail?
Ahhh… I’m always on the hunt for the next best MOHITO! You can never go wrong with a Mo’ I get this all the time, sometimes I feel like a need to try other drinks but naaa, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
#17: Would you rather drink a cup of coffee with George Clooney or Heston Blumenthal?
I have to side eye whoever came up with this question, how to you choose between one of the greatest Chefs and one of the greatest Actors, well let me be Oliver Twist and ask for both.
#18: What object in your kitchen can you not live without?
I had to think about this for a bit, object- I have to say my refrigerator, there are many other important appliances, pots, pans etc. but what would a home cook do without a refrigerator?
#19: What is your favorite snack?
I hate to pick favorites with food… why do I have to choose…but with our resolve to keep things healthy, lately, I mostly snack on crackers and nuts. I get these sugar free soda crackers from the supermarket and have one in my bag all the time. I enjoy snaking on cold fruits as well, like cucumbers and watermelons.
#20: What’s on your pizza?
Less is more with pizza toppings for me, a simple Mozzarella and pepperoni makes my day, but I would not pass up a slice of one with olives or pineapple. My only no no is a bbq sauce pizza, the sweet taste doesn’t do it for me.
#21: Is there something you really don’t like?
Hard or chewy meats, I’m not a fan of Slimy food, that’s the reason I chop up my okra anytime I make the soup. I cannot stand hard or chewy meats… I just can’t

There’s a plethora of them, already mentioned The Pioneer Woman and Afrolems, Fit-men cook, taste made, 1Q food platter… the list goes on.
#23: What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?
Ahhh… this one time in Florida, my friends and visited this restaurant called The Clarks Fish Camp, it has the largest private taxidermy collection in America. They had all sorts or animals from birds, tigers, bears, deers, cats… etc, it was really a sight! Since Florida is gator state I decided to try Alligator, it tasted weird and bland, I had to use a lot of sauce to help the taste. I also had flying chicken aka frog legs but that wasn’t a first.
#24: Do you have a food bucket list?
For sure, more like cuisines bucket list, I really want to try Russian cuisine, the names of meals are intriguing- Pirozhki, Solyanka Soup, wouldn’t you want to try that! I also want to try pastries from Ireland.
